The project will be realised by tracking the location of each crate within the installation space in real-time. This requires the creation of “smart objects”, that is, objects which are able to communicate information about their surroundings. We will be fabricating and working with smart milk crates.

The milk crates will be fitted with items such as sensors and Radio Frequency ID readers to collect data about their current environment. Such a system requires computing power to be also housed within the milk crate. We will be using laptops, which will be attached inside each milk crate to power and collect data from these sensors. This data can then be relayed to central server which controls the personalities of the milk crates, and the projection over the installation space.
